Christmas may traditionally come once a year, but at To Give A Smile, we believe the spirit of Christmas—generosity, kindness, joy, and compassion—can be shared whenever families need it most.

This July, that spirit came to life in a powerful way.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our volunteers, sponsors, donors, and community partners, To Give A Smilebrought Christmas in July to families staying at Ronald McDonald House locations and children’s hospitals across the country.

Through outreach events, holiday-themed meals, gifts, craft activities, care packages, and special visits from Santa, we created opportunities for families to pause, smile, and experience a little bit of normalcy during what can be one of the most difficult seasons of their lives.

For families focused on a child’s medical care, Christmas may feel very far away. Hospital rooms, appointments, procedures, uncertainty, and long days can quickly replace the traditions and celebrations that families look forward to.

Our goal with Christmas in July was simple: bring some of that joy to them.

And because of our community, we were able to do just that.

Christmas in July by the Numbers

This year’s Christmas in July outreach was filled with meaningful moments, and the numbers tell part of the story:

  • ✨ 10 outreach events completed
  • 🍽️ 250 meals prepared and served across 5 Ronald McDonald House locations
  • 🎁 Nearly 400 toys and care packages delivered
  • 🎨 100 Christmas in July craft kits distributed
  • 🎅 Santa visits across multiple locations

Behind every one of these numbers is a family, a child, a caregiver, a volunteer, or a community member whose day was made just a little brighter.

Because the impact of giving isn’t always measured in numbers.

Sometimes, it looks like a child’s face lighting up when they receive a surprise gift.

Sometimes, it’s a caregiver sitting down to enjoy a warm meal without having to worry about preparing it.

Sometimes, it’s a family laughing together over a holiday-themed activity after a long and exhausting day.

And sometimes, it’s simply seeing Santa walk through the door and watching a child smile.

Those are the moments that matter.
