2022 Night of Living Hope Gala
What an amazing night, as supporters, volunteers and team members came together to celebrate the thousands of lives that have been impacted over the last year through our outreach initiatives taking place around the world at our Night of Living Hope Gala.
The evening kicked off with an interview with our President & Founder, David Rose, as he shared his heartfelt story of how a hit-and-run accident changed his life forever but through determination to change what was meant to harm him into something good, TGAS was established.
We then heard firsthand how TGAS touches the lives of those we serve through an incredible interview with the Amarilla family, our first Christmas Blessing family which was selected in 2021. Graciela Amarilla (mother of Sharon), shared their story of how Sharon was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease, called Batten Disease CLN7, which prevents her body from producing a protein that causes several cognitive and physical setbacks. Children diagnosed with Batten Disease is one in one million with a life expectancy of 9 years of age. The family is from Paraguay and have been in Dallas for over a year, away from family & friends as their daughter is in a clinic gene therapy infusion trial at Children’s Dallas in hopes it will start producing the protein again and stop her body from regressing. Graciela shared that receiving the Christmas blessing truly made their first year being away from family during the holidays a little more hopeful and memorable.
We celebrated throughout the evening with live entertainment by Mudibu Rita Nsumbu, who sang several opera songs followed by Melanie Dutton and her band as they brought an energetic and memorable performance as they closed out the evening.
Through our silent auction, generous donors, and our event sponsors, including the Honda Finance, Home Zone, and The Highlands Dallas we raised over $10k in net profit. Your support will not only bring a smile to a child’s face through our outreach efforts taking place this fall & winter but will also give them hope for a brighter tomorrow!
Be sure to mark your calendars accordingly for our 9th Annual Night of Living Hope Gala being held on Saturday, October 7th from 6:30-10pm, as we come together to celebrate together the impact we have made through your support around the world!
